SIBILA BILINGUE
José Valente is the music director and composer of Sibila Bilingue since 2022. Sibila Bilingue, a project curated by the Museum of Porto, establishes dialogues with the immigrant communities living in Porto, for the creation of new poetic and musical works.

Águas paradas não movem moinhos is the first album by the recently formed viola sextet 6 VIOLAS, and an homage to the music of great singer and song writer José Mário Branco. Released by Respirar de Ouvido, it was premiered in 28th of May, at Auditório CCOP - Porto, a few days after the 80º birthday of José Mário Branco. Institutional support by Centro Musibéria, Antena 2, CESEM - arquivo José Mário Branco, and Câmara Municipal de Serpa.

TRÉGUA: José Valente & Orquestra Filarmónica Gafanhense
Trégua is an unprecedented album for Viola and Philharmonic Band, composed, orchestrated and performed by José Valente (viola), with Henrique Portovedo (conductor) and the Philharmonic Orchestra Gafanhense (philharmonic band). This project was awarded with the DGArtes funding for new creations and with the GDA’s funding for phonographic edition. And it is supported by: Orquestra Filarmónica Gafanhense, 23 Milhas, Antena 2, jazz.pt magazine and Comunidade Cultura e Arte.
